Metso Parts Apprentice

What's the challenge?

As the Metso Parts Apprentice, you play an integral role in the success of the Aggregate division of the Company.  Duties include determining parts requirements with customers and technicians, selling parts, expediting, providing order processing services, and inventory planning. You will assist with parts support in the AB, SK, NWT expansion, until a dedicated parts person can be hired in Alberta, when business allows it.

Experience Required:

• Enrollment in ITA Parts & Warehousing Program
• Basic knowledge and identification of Metso parts
• Superior customer relations skills
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Good communications skills
• Good computer and systems knowledge
• Strong technical background and capable of communicating with technicians and customers regarding parts and service

Education Required:

• Successful enrollment of ITA parts apprenticeship or equivalent work experience

What do we expect from you?

Position Outline

• Customer and service department (shop and field) parts sales
• Process parts orders prompting and accurately
• Customer and service department parts purchasing/requisitioning
• Delivery and pick up of parts to and from service technicians expediently and efficiently
• Process parts returned from work orders and customers in a timely manner. Ensure no-stock items are returned to suppliers within manufacturers specified period.
• Telephone selling, inbound and outbound
• Promote positive image of company and its product lines
• Attain short- and long-term objectives as set out by Parts Supervisor
• Operate within company policies, procedures and safety guidelines
• Build rapport and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
• Streamline processes and make recommendation for new processes
• Collaborate with freight and courier services to ensure efficient delivery of parts
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
