We are looking for a Product Specialist - Excavation to join our team in Ontario.

SUMMARY

The Excavator Specialist maintains core competence in the excavation product lines, while actively contributing to the development and execution of the Nors ST CE product strategy aimed at increasing excavator market share. The Excavator Specialist also takes ownership of and champions product-relevant market needs including top 10 critical factors for sales success .

 

 Expected Salary range (gross/annual)    

$100k-$120k

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build Product and Industry knowledge/competence by regularly visiting customers and tradeshows / 
    exhibitions and studying our customers’ businesses.
  • Participate in product-specific product planning meetings/activities and inform/guide the teams 
    regarding the regional product position, competitor status, and changes/strategies needed to advance 
    our position.
  • Monitor and understand the market for the applicable product to include market share, segments and 
    trends, competitive pricing, and identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Be involved as competitor expert. Monitor trade journals and competitor websites for competitive 
    updates and develop competitive update reports for the region.
  • Develop, schedule and engage in dealer activities, including demos, customer visits, sales training, 
    unique product deliveries, open house events, etc.
  • Support Key Account activities as needed to include demos, customer visits, and operator training 
    commitments as requested.
  • Be the region’s voice for what “Tools” are required to support the sales process and participate in the 
    development.
  • Support and ensure the development of Product Sales competence within the region (including hard 
    & soft product knowledge, sales skills, and sales tools).
  • Maintain Product and sales training Certifications on assigned products
  • Support Certification and Training courses as required.;

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • 5 years’ experience in the construction equipment industry.
  • familiarity with equipment types, segments, and applications, and/or experience with one or 
    more productivity technologies desired;
  • Strong understanding of distribution and marketing of innovative products.
  • General understanding of relevant mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Professional maturity and developed business and customer service skills.
  • Must be proficient in personal computer use, including familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and 
    Outlook.
  • Driven, goal-oriented team player with a solid ability to interact, report, and share information to 
    develop the overall knowledge base for the team
  • Familiar with, CoPilot Assist systems
  • Ability to analyze market data, identify trends and develop strategies 
    to improve the product position in the industry
  • Expert in one or more sustainable technology areas ( i.e. telematics, 
    battery, electric, fuel cell)
  • Proficient in problem resolution, evaluation, process mapping, and 
    organizational skills
  • A demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks through others using 
    influence vs. assigned authority
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, presentational 
    speaking and effective training techniques
  • Develop understanding of Volvo soft products tools

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience.
