We are looking for a Shop Technician - Apprentice to join our Service team in Acheson, AB.

Salary Range

  • $40.17 hourly

What's the challenge?

As a member of the Service team, the Shop Technician must be a highly motivated team player who completes the duties required in a professional and timely manner. They will assume overall responsibility for the safe, effective, clean, organized and professional performance.

What do we expect from you?

  • Emphasis in the development and implementation of a “customer service, customer focused” philosophy, within the department and the branch;
  • Overall customer satisfaction through the timely completion of service work;
  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned service work orders, including but not limited to: responsible for doing work orders, any follow-up to be done
  • Proactive troubleshooting in order to properly identify machine faults;
  • Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes;
  • Effective communication to vendor (Volvo) with respect to Tech Line and / or direct calls in order to facilitate accurate diagnosis;
  • Accurate ordering of required parts and follow-up to ensure parts are received in order to complete the assigned service work; parts department help to make parts orders, depends on clients demand
  • Accurate and timely service report submissions (includes time cards); After each job complete service report with all the details of the repairs made to the machine, and the time spent on the machine
  • Care and maintenance of assigned service bay and tools; for the safety of everyone we clean the work area, we put away all the tools, before starting the new work
  • Effective, open and frequent communication with Supervisor; allows for transparency and better communication
  • Competent in heavy equipment operation to test repairs when complete;
  • Responsible for the return of un-used parts upon the completion of service work; we return all unused parts after the work is done, because we don't need them anymore, and we get a refund.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all service work/inquiries by customers and or Supervisor are managed in a professional and timely manner at all times;
